Junior Frontend Engineer - Fulfillment Network

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

Zalando fulfils more than a hundred million customer orders every year and volumes are increasing. Fulfillment Core within Zalando builds and operates systems that are at the core of Zalando’s platform strategy and ensure timely, efficient, and correct delivery of every one of our customers’ 185+ million orders every year.

As a junior software engineer you will join one of the teams that model the fulfillment network and provide the foundational structure and data points that inform the many capabilities that Fulfillment Core provides, such as fulfillment planning and delivery time prediction. With your team specifically, you are responsible for building user interfaces through which internal stakeholders plan, optimize, and operate our network on a daily basis. You will collaborate with your team and stakeholders throughout the organization to shape and provide applications that are essential to deliver a delightful delivery experience to our customers.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Evolve and extend applications for the visualization and configuration of Zalando’s fulfillment network.

• Together with your team, fully build and own your applications from analysing requirements to testing, deployment, and operation.

• Work within an agile, cross-functional and experienced team, shipping software in short release cycles.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• We’re primarily a frontend team, but we also build the backends for our application. You should be comfortable working in both parts.

• We use TypeScript and React. You should be familiar with JavaScript and have some experience with frontend frameworks. 

• You’re able to work within a large distributed system of microservices and RESTful APIs.

• You have a sense of ownership, continuously learn and grow, and use your knowledge and skills to strengthen the team.
