The evolution of our platform is required for our scale, and we are searching for an experienced production engineer to join our rapidly growing engineering team. We’re looking for someone who is a passionate self-starter. If you are an engineer experienced with technology transformations, service-oriented architectures, mentoring engineers, and are motivated by scale, you may be the engineer we are looking for.

 

The day to day

  • Work with a team of passionate engineers to build reliability into every part of our platform

  • Write, test, integrate, and debug software applications that are resilient, secure, maintainable, and perform at scale

  • Debug various issues on the platform from Linux to Kubernetes clusters

  • Continuously improve WP Engine’s secure, performant platform that supports tens of millions of end users

  • Use and improve WP Engine's continuous integration and delivery pipelines to safely and rapidly push new code to production

  • Expand and fine-tune observability services to aid engineering and support efforts by creating better feedback loops

  • Work with VIctoriaMetrics monitoring platform to observe multiple platforms serving a vast number of sites

  • Develop and maintain automation tools to eliminate manual toil and improve operational efficiency

  • Give and receive feedback effectively both within and outside of your team

  • Participate in on-call rotation and determine/implement solutions to reduce production interrupts
     

Your expertise and passion

  • 5+ years experience in a production engineer role (or similar) with a focus on monitoring and delivering reliable systems. 

  • Proficient in programming (Python or Golang preferred)

  • Working knowledge of networking in cloud environments

  • Familiarity with CI/CD, IAC and common tools (Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Ansible)

  • Strong Linux foundation

  • Experience with cloud technologies and services (GCP or AWS preferred)

  • Experience with a Kubernetes environment at enterprise scale

  • Proactive with natural problem-solving abilities, an inquisitive personality, a continuous learning approach, and an eagerness to tackle big problems even with uncertain requirements

  • On-call experience for critical services with good troubleshooting skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) OR equivalent experience

     

Helpful experience

  • Familiarity with working with Agile

  • Experience with SRE concepts

This role involves on-call work

  • On-call is a weekly rotation among the team members

  • Level two escalation on a follow the sun model

Base Salary Range

zł180 000,00 - zł270 000,00

We believe that compensation should be reflective of the impact you have within the organization relative to the market value of your role. The estimated base salary range for this position is as listed above. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Our salary ranges are determined by job role and responsibilities and level.
