The Software Engineering Chapter within Commercial & Customer Engagement, part of Vestas Digital Solutions, plays a key role in Vestas' digital transformation. We design and deliver modern digital solutions that create tangible value for both customers and colleagues across the organization.

As a Frontend Developer, you will be part of a product-driven team, contributing to the design, development, and continuous evolution of scalable and reliable digital solutions. Frontend development will be at the core of your role, but we value developers with a broad engineering mindset who are curious about the full technology stack and comfortable contributing beyond traditional frontend boundaries. Depending on the product and your experience, this may include APIs, integrations, backend services, cloud technologies, and architecture.

At the same time, you will be closely connected to the Software Engineering Chapter, collaborating with peers across different development disciplines to align on development practices, architecture, standards, and shared technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications, translating product and design requirements into high-quality solutions
• Take direct ownership of frontend development while being comfortable contributing across the technology stack when it creates value for the product
• Collaborate closely with designers, backend developers, product owners, and other specialists to deliver intuitive and consistent user experiences
• Contribute to APIs, integrations, backend services, and cloud-based solutions where relevant to the product and your experience
• Continuously improve code quality and application performance, applying best practices for testing, accessibility, security, and maintainability
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive Software Engineering Chapter culture through knowledge sharing, peer support, and collaboration across teams and development disciplines
• Use modern development approaches, including AI-assisted and agentic development, to improve productivity and solution quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Several years of professional development experience with deep frontend experience; experience with Angular and TypeScript is highly valuable
• Solid experience with modern frontend development principles, including component-based architecture, state management, testing, accessibility, and scalable application design
• Experience or interest in working beyond the frontend, including APIs, backend services, integrations, and cloud platforms; experience with Java/Spring Boot and Microsoft Azure is valuable
• Practical experience with modern development ecosystems, including Git, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment practices, with a solid focus on quality and maintainability
• Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional, product-driven teams
• Experience using, or a keen interest in using, AI-assisted development tools as part of everyday development

This is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal and requires up to 25 days of travel per year, mostly to Denmark.
