Lead Engineer Marine Industry

Valmet Automation business line is looking for a Lead Engineer to lead our delivery projects. In this role you are responsible for leading project engineering team to ensure timeliness, cost efficiency, high quality and meeting customer expectations. Your location will be Gliwice or Wroclaw. The main tasks are to supervise of design Marine Control System (hardware and system design, application engineering), test and commission the product in the yards: mostly in France, Germany, Norway, Italy (typically up to 20-30% time). You will be a technical expert supporting team and Project Manager during project execution.

What do we expect from you?

B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in automation (or similar) is very good background for this position. In addition, you have experience in leading engineering projects from design phase through commissioning to take over. You should know distributed control systems (DCS) and/or programmable logic controllers (PLC) - including HW&System configuration and programming in function block diagram language.

Process know-how of Marine and experience related to DCS/PLC Marine control systems is considered as a strength.

You are familiar with engineering-related quality assurance and control methods, and these are guiding your daily work. You are a customer-oriented self-driven team player, having the ability to lead a project team. Your project planning competencies & systematic way of working leads to excellent results. You have a hands-on and flexible attitude in everything you do. To be successful in this role you should have fluent written and spoken English & Polish communication. Good German, French, Italian communication skills would be an additional strength. You should have good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel) and driving license (at least B category).
