Spanning many disciplines, we work to make the business work; creating the infrastructure, tooling, frameworks, and capabilities needed to welcome a billion customers.

About the Team

You’ll join the Data Platform within the Platform mission, where we build the foundations that power how Spotify understands user behavior at scale. Our team owns the SDKs used across iOS, Android, and web to collect user behavior data, and we build the tools and APIs that make instrumentation seamless for developers. Working closely with engineers, data scientists, and product partners, we enable teams across Spotify to make better, data-informed decisions that shape the listening experience for millions.

What You'll Do

  • Build and evolve internal tools that help developers instrument and understand user behavior data
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, designers, and product managers to create intuitive and scalable developer experiences
  • Design and maintain APIs that integrate smoothly with Spotify’s web clients, including desktop and TV platforms
  • Evolve and maintain JavaScript SDKs to support new capabilities within the user behavior infrastructure
  • Identify friction points in adoption and integration, and continuously improve the developer experience
  • Contribute to backend systems and services that support data collection and processing at scale
  • Take part in an on-call rotation to support the reliability and performance of the platform
  • Who You Are

  • You are experienced working across frontend, backend, and infrastructure in a fullstack environment
  • You have strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, including modern development, testing, and debugging practices
  • You are comfortable building applications using React and working with backend systems in Java
  • You care deeply about developer experience and enjoy building intuitive, reliable APIs and tools
  • You have a quality mindset and think holistically about software development, from coding to deployment and monitoring
  • You have experience building user-friendly web applications and understand what makes a great user experience
  • You are curious and collaborative, and enjoy working with cross-functional partners to solve complex problems

  • You are comfortable leveraging AI tools (such as Claude Code) to enhance development workflows
  • Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in London
