You’ll join the Core Value & Engagement product area within our Core Experience studio. This team builds and evolves some of Spotify’s most loved features—from Social Messaging to Wrapped and our Playlist Platform. We focus on reducing friction and helping users connect more deeply with Spotify every day. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, design, and data partners to shape engaging, high-impact user experiences at scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with peer engineering managers to support delivery across the Core Value & Engagement area.
  • Lead a cross-functional engineering team with a mix of skills and experience levels.
  • Support and coach engineers to grow, develop, and do their best work.
  • Contribute to technical direction and ensure strong execution across your team.
  • Work closely with product, design, and data partners to build meaningful user experiences.
  • Help align teams on priorities, goals, and delivery plans.
  • Create an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.
  • Identify and remove blockers to keep teams moving forward.
  • Guide the adoption of AI-assisted development practices to improve quality and speed.
  • Stay close enough to the code to support technical decisions and ensure strong implementation.
  • Who You Are

  • You have experience leading engineering teams in an AI driven product-focused environment.
  • You know how to balance delivery and execution with team growth.
  • You are experienced working with AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
  • You understand trade-offs in modern AI driven software development, including quality, scalability, and security.
  • You have experience contributing to cross-team initiatives with clear outcomes.
  • You care about building products that create great user experiences.
  • You bring strong technical judgment and can guide architectural and implementation decisions.
  • You value inclusive, collaborative team environments.
  • You communicate clearly and work well with cross-functional partners.

  • This role is based in Stockholm or London.
