The Purpose:
Engineering Managers at PPRO have the passion and abilities to build collaborative teams that deliver high-quality, scalable and performant products. At the Cash Flow domain we provide the infrastructure and logic that powers PPRO’s ability to move and account for cash. We are responsible for the seamless movement of funds—ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and operational efficiency across the entire financial lifecycle.   You will not only lead the engineering strategy but will play a hands-on role in enabling financial inclusion and global eCommerce. You will partner with Product to drive the technical strategy and evolution of our transactional accounting system, elevating the ledger into the company’s financial backbone and definitive source of truth for cash flow management.   What you will be doing: - Partner with your Product Manager to develop the technology strategy and define the boundaries of the transactional accounting system - Build and mentor a team of high-performing engineers, fostering a culture of psychological safety, technical excellence, and continuous learning - Lead the system evolution to elevate the ledger into the company’s financial backbone, enabling it to act as the definitive source of truth for PPRO’s cash flow management - Lead by example and stay close to the code, making informed decisions while proactively identifying technical risks - Collaborate with stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, Treasury) to identify opportunities, influencing decisions without direct authority using persuasive, data-backed communication - Facilitate technical discussions, guide resolutions, and navigate complex trade-offs - Own operational excellence for your product, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement - Lead your team like a startup—succeed, fail, and learn together   You Will Need to Have: - Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders. - A humble and inclusive leadership style - Experience designing and building scalable products using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot - Experience (or a strong foundation) in developing, mentoring, and growing a high-performing, collaborative, and diverse team - A results-oriented, collaborative, and pragmatic approach with a continuous improvement mindset. - A desire to spend ~50% of your time close to the code - The ability to analyze and articulate the trade-offs of technical problems to a broad audience. - Strong experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) - Working proficiency in English   Even better if you have: - Accounting/Fintech Domain: Experience with—or a strong interest in—the complexities of accounting systems or ledgers is a distinct advantage - Architecture: Experience with event-driven architectures   Tech stack: - Java / Kotlin and Spring Boot - Cloud-native microservice architecture on AWS - Docker and Kubernetes - Event-driven architectures - Infrastructure-as-Code, e.g., Terraform   What's in it for you ? :
