Senior Finance Data & AI engineer

About the role
As a Senior Finance Data & AI Engineer, you will build and develop Finance-owned data, AI and application solutions across areas such as closing, controlling, tax, treasury and financial transactional services.

Embedded within Finance, you will work closely with different finance teams to turn business challenges into practical, scalable solutions. You will also provide technical leadership for the team’s engineering output by establishing common standards and reusable patterns, supporting colleagues and taking ownership of the most complex and business-critical solutions.

 

Key responsibilities

 

• Partner with finance teams to translate business needs into scalable data, AI and application solutions, leading complex and cross-functional builds from concept to production.
• Design and build data pipelines, machine learning and GenAI solutions, AI agents and user-facing applications using Databricks, Azure or other relevant technologies
• Own the full solution lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, model evaluation and retraining.
• Establish reusable engineering and application patterns, including pipeline templates, agent frameworks, shared components and UI design systems.
• Set and promote standards for code quality, testing, MLOps, security, maintainability, accessibility and usability, while contributing to platform and technology decisions.
• Mentor colleagues, conduct technical reviews and act as an escalation point for complex builds, using AI-enabled development tools to improve delivery speed and quality.

 

What we are looking for

 

• At least five years of experience in data, AI or software engineering, including technical leadership or architecture ownership across a solution portfolio.
• Strong expertise in Python, SQL, data engineering, machine learning, GenAI and LLM/agent frameworks, together with experience building production-grade applications.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure, including CI/CD, Azure DevOps or equivalent, and Data/ML/AI Ops practices.
• Strong application and front-end architecture capabilities, including reusable component design, design systems and maintainable user interfaces at scale.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data/AI engineering, software engineering or a related field—or equivalent practical experience. Strong stakeholder skills are essential; finance process

 

Knowledge and relevant Azure, Databricks or AI certifications are considered advantages.
Agile scrum master experience considered advantage
