We are looking for a working student in our Competence Center for Crypto and Security at NXP. In this role as student Python Software Engineer you will be able to apply and expand your knowledge in Python programming based on your existing experience and your interests to influence new innovative security technologies in NXP’s products and to ensure that NXP’s products achieve best in class security.

The responsibilities of this exciting, varied role will include:

  • Developing activities in a Python based security tooling

  • Evaluating and refining static analysis security testing (SAST) tools and their application

  • Collaborating with global IT teams on the deployment

  • Refining software security best practices to assure an effective application

To ensure your successful performance in this role, we are looking for the following profile:

  • Ongoing studies in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering

  • Basic experience in the design and development of (secure) software

  • Good knowledge programming in Python (practical experience is an advantage)

  • Familiarity with using "state of the art" software tools, CI/CD, secure software engineering processes (SSDLC), IoT solutions and service (depending on area of expertise)

  • Excellent communication skills, are willing to listen and adapt

  • Willingness to work in a global, inclusive, multi-cultural environment

  • Availability approximately 16 hours/week

Please note: The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks. The assignment may/will be in scope of security certifications, therefore a conscious and reliable way of working is necessary.

The minimum salary for this position is EUR 2.800,- gross/month for full-time equivalent at NXP Austria.
