What you’ll do
- Configure and maintain SAS components on the new platform to enable smooth onboarding of new models
- Support the deployment and operational lifecycle of analytical and risk models (publishing, versioning, scoring workflows)
- Manage SAS platform artefacts: libraries, caslibs-equivalent structures, folders, authorisations and access control
- Collaborate with modelers to troubleshoot issues in model execution, data access or environment configuration
- Use SAS CLI and existing automation frameworks to execute routine tasks and assist with semi-automated deployment flows
- Manage platform-level configuration that does not involve Kubernetes infrastructure
- Contribute to improving operational procedures, documentation and knowledge base for modelling teams

- Experience in administering SAS environments (SAS 9, SAS Viya 3.5 or similar)
- Understand how to configure, operate and maintain SAS components used by modelling teams

The expected salary for this position:
Core range: 9 600 – 17 000 PLN gross
Exceptional range: 17 000 – 21 000 PLN gross
The exceptional range applies to candidates who demonstrate advanced expertise in Azure platform engineering and/or practical experience with SAS Viya platforms, take ownership of complex onboarding and operational challenges, drive platform reliability, automation and continuous improvement initiatives, and provide additional value through mentoring, knowledge sharing or broad expertise across Azure, DevOps, SAS Viya and analytical platforms.
The financial ranges specified in the announcement are adjusted and may differ from the range specified in the remuneration regulations.
We are looking for you, if you:
- have experience operating and supporting Azure-based platforms or cloud environments,
- understand CI/CD concepts and have hands-on experience with deployment automation using Ansible, Terraform or similar automation tools,
- are able to troubleshoot complex platform, application or configuration issues,
- can analyse logs, identify root causes and coordinate resolution activities,
- understand identity management, access control and security fundamentals,
- have experience working with Azure services such as Azure DevOps, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage or similar,
- are familiar with monitoring, operational support and platform reliability concepts,
- have experience with scripting and automation using Python or similar technologies,
- communicate well in English (both written and spoken),
- are a team player, reliable, proactive, eager to learn and continuously improve the platform.
You'll get extra points for:
- experience with SAS Viya, SAS 9 or other analytical platforms,
- experience supporting analytical, risk or data science teams,
- experience operating and maintaining databases (e.g. Oracle, Azure SQL),
- basic understanding of Kubernetes-based platforms and containerized environments,
- understanding of security standards, access control and data governance.
Your responsibilities:
- operate and maintain platform services supporting analytical and modelling workloads,
- support onboarding, deployment and operational lifecycle of analytical and risk models,
- maintain platform configuration, user access and environment setup including SAS Viya configuration and access management,
- collaborate with modelers and platform engineers to troubleshoot deployment, configuration and data access issues,
- automate operational activities using existing CI/CD pipelines and scripting solutions,
- support migration-related activities and operational readiness of Azure-hosted environments,
- monitor platform services, analyse logs, identify bottlenecks and propose improvements,
- contribute to operational procedures, documentation and knowledge sharing,
- ensure compliance with internal standards for security, confidentiality, integrity and stability,
- participate in Agile ceremonies: stand-ups, refinements, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Information about the team:
You will join a platform-focused squad responsible for delivering a stable, secure and easy-to-use analytical environment for ING modelling teams worldwide.
The platform is built on Azure and supports SAS Viya-based analytical capabilities. The team is currently focused on migration, onboarding and operational excellence activities required to ensure smooth adoption of the new platform.
Core Azure infrastructure, Kubernetes administration and networking are managed by a dedicated engineering team. Your focus will be on platform operations, configuration, onboarding and analytical workload support.
You will work closely with platform engineers, SAS specialists, cloud experts and business stakeholders to provide reliable analytical capabilities supporting risk and modelling processes across ING entities worldwide.
You don't need to be a SAS expert from day one. This role is ideal for engineers with strong cloud or platform engineering skills who want to expand their expertise into SAS Viya and analytical platform operations.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine Azure platform engineering with analytical platform technologies and participate in one of ING's major analytical platform transformation initiatives.
