Accelerate the zero-carbon transition with AI

ENGIE Renewables & Batteries (R&B) BeNeLux is a key player in the energy transition, operating more than 2 GW of renewable and storage assets across wind, solar, hydro and batteries.

Our ambition is clear: grow to 3 GW by 2030.

To achieve this, we are scaling the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning across our operations — enabling smarter forecasting, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection and data-driven decision-making that enhance performance, safety and efficiency.

We are looking for an AI/ML Engineer to turn data into real operational impact.

YOUR CHALLENGE as AI/ML Engineer – Operational Intelligence & Predictive Analytics (M/F/X)

As an AI/ML Engineer, you are embedded within the business and work closely with operational teams across Renewables Operations.

You take end-to-end responsibility for AI-driven solutions — from ideation to deployment — and act as both a technical expert and a business partner to drive the adoption of AI across the organization.

In this role, you report directly to the Head of Operations, ensuring strong visibility at leadership level. You will initially have no direct reports, but will collaborate closely with multiple teams across the organization.

Your key responsibilities

AI & Data Solutions

  • Design, train and deploy machine learning models
Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines, from operational data sources to actionable insights
  • Integrate AI/ML models into tools, dashboards and operational workflows

Business Impact & Adoption

  • Translate operational and business needs into scalable AI use cases
  • Support and drive the adoption of AI solutions across teams
(Development, Construction, Engineering, Admin Support, HSE, Finance & Controlling)
  • Act as AI/ML Subject Matter Expert within Renewables Operations

Ecosystem & Governance

  • Contribute to the development of ENGIE’s AI & data ecosystem
  • Ensure alignment with cybersecurity and data governance standards

YOUR PROFILE as AI/ML Engineer – Operational Intelligence & Predictive Analytics (M/F/X)

  • Engineering background with a strong interest in AI, or Master’s degree in AI, Data Science or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in machine learning and Python
  • Solid knowledge of data processing & feature engineering (pandas, SQL)
  • Experience with time-series or industrial data (e.g. SCADA) is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) and cloud platforms
  • Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex topics for non-technical stakeholders
  • Proactive, hands-on and results-driven team player, able to work autonomously in operational environments
  • English proficiency required; good knowledge of Dutch or French

Location & mobility

  • Brussels (base location)
  • Hybrid working model - Occasional travel within Belgium, the Netherlands and France

What we offer

  • A key role with real impact in the energy transition and AI transformation
  • The opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI use cases in renewable operations
  • A dynamic, innovative and collaborative environment
  • Strong exposure across teams and business activities
  • Competitive salary package with attractive extra-legal benefits:
    • Tax-optimized bonus plan
    • Hospitalization & medical insurance
    • Retirement plan
    • Meal vouchers (€10 / €1.09 net contribution)
    • Electric company car with charging card (Belgium & neighbouring countries)
or green alternative via mobility plan
