Senior Backend Engineer

Our Opportunity

We are looking for experienced Senior Backend Engineers to strengthen our backend ecosystem - the foundation powering our platform and products.

Our rapidly scaling Vet SaaS platform supports hundreds of veterinary practices every day, helping them run their businesses end to end. The Backend team is responsible for designing and maintaining the infrastructure that enables these experiences and ensures performance, reliability, and scalability across our systems.

What You Will Do

• Participate in the entire product development lifecycle - from design and development to deployment and maintenance of new and existing features.

• Design and implement robust, scalable RESTful APIs.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and align with company objectives.

• Optimize application performance for production-scale environments.

• Work closely with Frontend and other engineers to integrate features, manage dependencies, and solve technical challenges.

• Uphold and promote engineering best practices through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

• Continuously learn and explore new technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance our systems.

Your Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer, with ideally with strong technical expertise in PHP (Laravel), or at least desire to learn and use.

• A track record of building and maintaining high-quality, scalable software systems.

• Experience designing and implementing high-availability applications or SaaS platforms.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, testing strategies, and agile development practices.

• Experience working in fast-paced startups or scale-ups, with the ability to adapt and deliver in evolving environments.

• Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure.

• Solution-driven mindset with the ability to balance technical depth and product impact.
