We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Android to join our London team. In this role, you’ll help us build and scale our world-class mobile applications, ensuring a seamless and high-performance experience for our global community of users. This role is based in our London office with a hybrid setup, typically 3 days in the office. Get to know our Engineering team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be joining the Consumer Tech team. We focus on the end-to-end journey of our customers—from the moment they open the app to the point their meal arrives—ensuring every interaction is intuitive, fast, and reliable. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like: Drive technical execution by designing, building, and scaling Android applications that handle complex, real-time interactions at a global scale. Lead architectural improvements and code reviews, ensuring the maintainability, visibility, and operational health of our mobile codebase. Partner with cross-functional disciplines (PMs, Experience Designers) to plan projects, assist with technical choices, and influence the team roadmap. Own large-scale features from design to delivery, simplifying maintenance and promoting operational readiness across our production systems. Support the growth of others by mentoring colleagues, encouraging efficiency, and taking an active role in our engineering hiring process. What You’ll Need to Thrive Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others: Significant experience in building Android applications at scale , with a deep understanding of the Android SDK, AndroidX, and modern development tools like Android Studio. Proven ability to scale Android architecture , delivering high-performance mobile experiences in a fast-paced environment. Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java , with a keen interest in continuing to push the boundaries of what's possible with Kotlin. Demonstrated ownership of technical delivery within cross-functional teams, guiding implementation choices and technical design. A pride in software craft , with a commitment to writing readable, well-designed, and thoroughly tested mobile code. Why Join Us?
