The Role
We are seeking a technically strong and motivated Core Network Engineering Manager to support the development and maintenance of our global telecoms core network. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with a small team of engineers and contributing directly to technical delivery in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a leadership role with a strong focus on people management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and day-to-day management for a small team of telecoms engineers.

  • Oversee the delivery, Level 3 operations, and maintenance of the global telecoms core network.

  • Collaborate with engineers to set goals and ensure alignment with team and company objectives.

  • Help prioritise and manage team workload using Kanban methodologies.

  • Validate third-party solutions and vendor performance for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of geo-redundant connectivity solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong telecoms engineering background with leadership experience.

  • Proven experience in people management, including leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.

  • Familiarity with core telecoms components: HSS, PGW, STP, DRA, PCRF, GMSC, SMSC.

  • Experience in core network design and implementation.

  • NOC experience preferred.

  • Proven track record in working with small teams.

  • Proficient in Kanban or similar agile methodologies.

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

  • Excellent spoken and written English

  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Adaptable, proactive, and committed to high-quality service delivery.

New hires at Cubic³ are required to work onsite five days a week during their six-month probation period to get to know the company, their team, and our ways of working. After probation, we offer a flexible arrangement of up to eight work-from-home days per month, provided it aligns with business needs and performance standards. This arrangement is not a given for all roles.
