ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology

Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips

Working for tomorrow today.

Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you are responsible for the end-to-end approach to electrical integration, verification, and qualification of complex mechatronic systems. Your scope reaches from electronic components and assemblies through integrated subsystems to functional verification at overall system level. Test software and automation support this work but are not the primary technical focus of the role. Rather than focusing on individual tests or test benches, you develop an integrated qualification strategy and drive its implementation through to series readiness.

You also play a key role in shaping our high-end manufacturing technologies and processes of the future. Working in a leading technology company, you will have a strong influence on the technology roadmap and collaborate closely with top-level interdisciplinary teams.

Your Role

  • Develop and own electrical verification and qualification strategies for complex mechatronic systems
  • Translate system requirements into coherent verification concepts, test methods, and acceptance criteria
  • Define integration, commissioning, and qualification processes from assembly to overall system level
  • Define requirements for test benches, measurement concepts, and automated test systems
  • Coordinate cross-functional analysis of complex failure modes involving hardware and system interfaces
  • Establish robust standards for Design for Test, quality, traceability, and series production
  • Actively contribute to positioning ZEISS as a high-tech manufacturer

Your Profile

  • University degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or comparable engineering discipline
  • Several years of experience in the integration, commissioning, or qualification of complex electronic and mechatronic systems
  • Strong knowledge of electrical system architectures, test methods, and systematic troubleshooting of physical hardware
  • Experience with verification and qualification strategies from assembly to overall system level
  • Strong systems thinking and communication skills, combined with experience in providing technical leadership to interdisciplinary teams
  • Structured and independent working style as well as very good German and English skills
