Senior Software Engineer (Metal Processing Software)

ZEISS leads in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, providing precision lithography optics, photomask systems, and process-control solutions to enable smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient chips. 

 

By ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technologies (SMT), you will be responsible for high-quality software development as part of a well-functioning team, review code commits, mentor junior colleagues, design and follow CI/CD processes, and collaborate closely with the software architect and requirements engineer.  

 

The role of Senior Software Engineer will involve: 

 

• Develop high quality software solution as part of a well-functioning team 

• Review code commits 

• Be mentor for junior colleagues 

• Design and follow CI/CD processes 

• Technical alignment with stakeholders 

• Work together closely with software architect and requirement engineer  

Your Experience 

• A degree in business information technology or a comparable qualification 

• Confident handling of C# and .NET 8 

• Confident handling of WPF,  

• Knowledge of the use of WCF and GraphQL famework,  

• Knowledge of the use machine communication protocols, like OPC UA 

• Understanding of component level software design e.g. OOP, SOLID, Software design patterns (GoF) 

It would be desirable if you had:  

• Experience in industrial automation. It is an advantage if didn’t only work with, but already designed a SCADA system 

• System thinking mindset: able to understand the machine’s operation and the software at the system level. 

• Confidence in English communication. Additional German knowledge is an advantage
