ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology

Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips

Working for tomorrow today.

Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.

Your Role

As an Enterprise Architect, you act as a crucial bridge between our sophisticated business processes and their technological implementation. You translate strategic requirements from the business into future-proof architecture solutions and ensure that our IT landscape generates maximum value for the company. Your focus is on the operational design and implementation of the architecture in the following business domains: Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Product Development and Quality Management.

You will:

  • Analyze business requirements and business capabilities and translate them into concrete, cross-domain architecture solutions that take into account our architecture domains: Business, IT, Data and Cyber Security.
  • Develop Business Capability Maps as a basis for the strategic planning of the application portfolio and establish their links to other domains.
  • Act as the central architecture contact for projects in our core areas (e.g. Supply Chain, Manufacturing), providing expert guidance and ensuring adherence to strategic guidelines and standards.
  • Develop and maintain roadmaps / target landscape plans and reference architectures for specific business areas, in order to create transparency across the entire application and technology landscape and to support strategic architecture decisions.
  • Act as a thought leader by evaluating new technologies and methods and assessing their value contribution to our business processes.
  • Work very closely with business analysts, process owners, and IT, data and security specialists to design integrated and sustainable solutions.

Your Profile

  • A successfully completed degree in Business Informatics / Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration with a strong IT focus, or a comparable qualification.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in designing business processes and mapping them into IT systems, ideally in companies with complex industrial manufacturing; experience in a consulting environment is a strong plus.
  • In-depth understanding of enterprise processes in at least one of our core areas: Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Product Development or Quality Management.
  • Solid knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and the ability to apply them pragmatically and problem-oriented to create tangible business value.
  • The ability to understand and explain complex relationships between business and information technology to different stakeholder groups in a clear and concise way.
  • Strong analytical skills, a proactive and solution-oriented working style, as well as business-fluent German and English language skills (spoken and written).
