As posted by AutoStore

The Security Engineer (SE) is a hands-on technical role responsible for operating, improving, and evolving AutoStore’s security detection and response capabilities. The role sits within a security operations and engineering team, working alongside SE’s who collectively share ownership of the day-to-day security operations function.

Beyond security operations, the SE contributes to new technical security initiatives and provides security input into infrastructure, end user, application, and product-related work wherever security support is required. SE’s are expected to complement each other’s strengths and develop expertise across both operational and engineering disciplines over time.

This is a mid-to-senior level position. We’re looking for someone with solid security operations or engineering foundations who is ready to take on real ownership, whether that means deepening existing expertise or growing into areas that are newer to them

Job Responsibilities:

  • Incident Response: Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents while continuously improving AutoStore's detection and response capabilities.

  • Security Tooling & Visibility: Manage and enhance security tooling, including log management, monitoring, endpoint security, and detection engineering.

  • Security Engineering: Contribute to the design and implementation of new security capabilities, providing technical security guidance across infrastructure, cloud, applications, and products.

  • Operational Improvement: Drive automation and process improvements to strengthen security operations and improve efficiency.

  • Collaboration: Partner with IT, Product, and R&D teams to implement practical security controls, support technical initiatives, and help mature AutoStore's security posture.

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in a Security Operations or Security Engineering role, with hands-on experience in threat detection and incident response.

  • Experience with EDR/XDR, SIEM, and security monitoring technologies (e.g. CrowdStrike, Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, Microsoft Defender).

  • Good understanding of security logging, endpoint security, and detection engineering, with the ability to improve existing security capabilities.

  • Exposure to cloud security, automation, or scripting is considered an advantage.

  • A curious, collaborative, and adaptable mindset, with the ability to work across teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

We recognise that solid candidates rarely tick every box. If this role resonates with you and you can demonstrate solid foundations in many areas of what we're looking for, we'd encourage you to apply.

We offer:

  • A Collaborative & Inclusive Culture where we celebrate and value everyone’s contributions, encouraging diverse perspectives in decision-making.

  • A Creative and Safe Workplace by joining a company experiencing rapid growth, with the stability of being Norway’s first unicorn listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

  • International and Supportive Environment within a Norwegian multinational that values collaboration and innovation with a structured onboarding plan and career opportunities within the company
