Proxima Fusion is Europe's fastest-growing fusion energy company, building the first generation of fusion power plants using quasi-isodynamic (QI) stellarators. Leveraging decades of research in magnetic confinement fusion and the expertise behind the record-breaking Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) stellarator at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP), the company combines advances in stellarator optimization, computational design, and high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. Its roadmap includes the Stellaris fusion power plant concept (2025), a Stellarator Model Coil by 2027, an Alpha Demonstration Stellarator in the early 2030s, and a full Stellaris Fusion Power Plant by the late 2030s, with partnerships including RWE, Thales, KIT, Diamond Materials, the Free State of Bavaria, and the Max Planck Institute.
