Job Description

 

Lead the definition and implementation of AI Safety for next-generation Automotive Compute Subsystems and complex SoCs enabling L4 autonomous driving and humanoid robotics. As the technical lead for AI Safety, you will create comprehensive safety architectures covering hardware, software, AI frameworks, and tool flows, ensuring credible AI deployment for safety-critical systems.

Working alongside architecture, hardware, software, verification, functional safety, cybersecurity, and product groups, you will guide AI safety strategy from concept through customer deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop AI Safety frameworks for complex Automotive and Robotics SoCs and Compute Subsystems.
  • Develop AI safety requirements, architectures, and assurance methods aligned with ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), IEC 61508, ISO/SAE 21434, and emerging AI safety standards.
  • Lead the integration of AI safety features across hardware, software, AI runtimes, and ML toolchains.
  • Define approaches for AI robustness, runtime monitoring, uncertainty management, explainability, fault tolerance, and safe system behavior.
  • Partner with architecture, hardware, software, compiler, verification, security, and functional safety groups to secure complete AI safety implementation.
  • Support AI safety verification, validation, and technical risk assessments throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support customer engagements, safety assessments, and industry standards activities as the AI safety technical expert.
  • Develop future AI safety approaches and reference frameworks for Automotive and Robotics platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, or a related field.
  • 10 years proven experience in semiconductor or embedded systems development, including complex SoC architecture.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML systems, modern SoC architectures, and hardware/software co-design.
  • Experience with AI software stacks, inference runtimes, compiler technologies, and ML deployment tool flows.
  • Experience with ISO 26262, ISO 21448, IEC 61508, ISO/SAE 21434, and AI safety concepts.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional architecture initiatives and influence multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaborator management skills.
  • Experience with Automotive, Robotics, or safety-critical AI systems is highly desirable.
