Could you be the full-time VIE - Data Engineer and Digital Transformation Specialist in Cluj, Romania, we’re looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your data engineering expertise in a cutting-edge and transformative field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in supporting the digitalization of our procurement processes and systems, enabling Alstom to achieve operational excellence. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across the business (such as production, purchasing, transport, and planning), identify and analyze data-related challenges, and propose and implement solutions to drive efficiency and performance.

You’ll specifically take care of the implementation of new data methodologies and technologies, but also support the Sourcing Business Process Owner teams in overhauling their data management systems.

 

We’ll look to you for:

  • Understanding business use cases and formalizing requirements through detailed specifications
  • Analyzing and transforming data to support business needs
  • Proposing innovative analysis and valuation models
  • Implementing new methodologies and technologies for data processing
  • Collecting and identifying the needs of operational customers
  • Developing indicators to highlight areas for improvement
  • Leading improvement projects with operational teams


All about you

  • Degree in engineering, data science, or a related field (Bac+5 or Master’s level)
  • Experience or understanding of procurement processes
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Tableau, QlikSense, QlikView, Power BI) and database management languages (e.g., SQL)
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Competence in data mining and extraction
  • Ability to interpret, present, and explain data-driven results effectively
  • Fluency in English
  • Project management skills and knowledge of data science tools (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Agility, creativity, and a proactive attitude
Contract duration: 24 months
