With customers across USA, Europe and Australia, we’re looking to rapidly scale our product offering and production capabilities.

The Production Engineer is responsible for applying advanced manufacturing and quality engineering techniques to control, analyse, and improve production processes in the production line . The role focuses on failure analysis, process capability, instrument calibration and test stability, and statistical process control, working cross‑functionally with Final Test, NPI, Systems Engineering, R&D and  Quality Engineering. to deliver robust, data‑validated improvements in yield, quality, and throughput.

They will:

• Develop a broad understanding of the Alcon products, their underlying technologies, and their application at Alcon.

• Assist in meeting any product-based objectives set by Engineering, Production, Quality, Regulatory, and Marketing.

• Work collaboratively across all disciplines to take products from development to mass production and general availability in the market.

• Analyse new and existing engineering technologies and apply them in the testing of manufactured products.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Apply statistical analysis techniques to monitor, control, and improve manufacturing processes by analysing production data, conducting Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA/GR&R) studies, identifying sources of process variation, and supporting data‑based decision‑making to improve product quality, yield, and overall process capability.

  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve process control systems, including SPC and MSA frameworks, to ensure production processes are stable, repeatable, well‑controlled, and capable of meeting quality and performance requirements.

  • Perform production capacity and throughput analysis to evaluate current manufacturing performance, identify constraints and bottlenecks, and support informed production planning, prioritisation, and risk mitigation decisions.

  • Actively support day‑to‑day production operations by participating in daily production stand‑up meetings, clearly communicating priorities, production status, risks, and required actions.

  • Proactively escalate and communicate issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, or production capacity to the appropriate stakeholders, while working collaboratively across Engineering, Quality, NPI, Systems, R&D, and Production teams to drive timely and effective resolution.

Skills & Experiences:

·  Proven experience improving production efficiency, yield, or process stability.

·  A continuous improvement mindset — looks for better ways of doing things and follows them through.

·  Willingness to learn and adapt as processes, products, and priorities change.

With Attributes:

• Pays a high level of attention to detail.

• Is self-driven, reliable, and responsible; takes ownership of their work.

• Can plan and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
