Job Description:

Structure Design & integration Engineer  – Airbus Commercial Engineering Center

As part of Airbus’s ambition to grow a proficient and competitive Engineering organisation, we are launching a Commercial Aircraft Engineering Centre in Poland. This initiative aims to leverage Poland’s talent pool and technological ecosystem, specifically in the field of Propulsion systems, while supporting our broader Engineering workload and competitiveness requirements, and reinforcing Airbus’ strategic engagement with Poland.

Role Overview

Join the “Propulsion airframe” domain to drive the full product lifecycle—from Research & Technology (R&T) through development and in-service support. You will be responsible for designing Nacelle and Pylon Airframe products and propulsion system physical integration.

Specific roles within the team include :

  • Contributing to Airbus proprietary products, such as air inlet or Pylon design

  • Specifying, guiding, and validating supplier Nacelle components

  • Physically integrating all major propulsion system components

In this frame, the propulsion engineering domain needs you to improve and develop our products and our dynamic design structure community !

Key Responsibilities

1. Structure design and validation

  • Lead the design Solution (technical decisions, signatures, routines…)

  • Ensure Co-design with Manufacturing approach

  • Integrate Innovative solutions in the context of multi architectures trade

  • Integrate multidisciplinary requirements : safety, system installation, manufacturing technologies, tolerancing, stress, material & process, operability

  • CAD modeling from Space Allocation Mockup (SAM) to Geometrical Reference Mock-up (GRM), including detailed design to issue definition dossier for industrialisation

2. System installation design and Optimization:

  • develop optimized, robust, and cost-effective electrical and mechanical system installation solutions (e.g., electric, fuel, hydraulic, bleed, fire systems, drainage). The goal is to reduce weight and costs, improve reliability, performance, manufacturability, and maintainability of pylon system installation.

  • lead the activity related to the implementation of these solutions on the aircraft, covering both the existing fleet and the next generation propulsion systems of future aircraft.

  • Actively contribute to the identification, definition, and maturation of new system installation "techno bricks" (e.g., new design principles, routing concepts, integration solutions) relevant for future propulsion architectures.

  • Support Technology Leaders in preparing and contributing to design studies and Technology Readiness Level (TRL) reviews

  • To lead and resolve complex system topics, such as those associated with ATA36 (bleed system) or ATA24 (electrical systems), which involve highly challenging thermo/meca/vibration/installation constraints. This includes defining design solutions (3D, drawings, concessions, repairs).

  • To ensure strong coordination of all stakeholders, including plant production, in-service support, project teams, R&T, and Chief Engineering.

3. Propulsion Physical integration

  • Coordinate with and follow-up the engine or nacelle manufacturers activities to support the deliverables of our team.

  • Responsible for the powerplant Interface Control Documents (ICD), Digital Mockup (DMU) integration and FAL installation drawings. You will manage the update and configuration in accordance with modifications of powerplant components (pylon, nacelle, engine),

  • Performing installation/feasibility studies including tolerances stack up and clash analysis to validate product changes proposed by engine/nacelle manufacturers,

  • Supporting production by assessing the reported non conformances from nacelle manufacturer and FAL, and by addressing MAP queries,

  • Ensuring a close link with FAL by analyzing non-conformities, contributing to FAL issues resolution and by proposing & leading improvements projects. These tasks will be performed in a Multi-Functional Team approach,

  • Supporting Airlines customers by handling daily queries and validating customer documentation (AMM, SB),

  • Managing Airworthiness issues and In service problems. You will also contribute to establish the risk assessment (root causes,..) and to provide all needed technical data to support the event closure (SB, mod..),

  • Leading projects in a continuous improvement approach: RC (Recurring Costs) savings, Performance improvement in the frame of DDMS, Innovative way of working,

The Ideal Profile

Education & Experience

  • Education: Engineering Degree in Mechanical/System Engineering or related discipline

  • Aeronautics context and certification framework (CS-25) knowledge would be a plus

  • Experience: 2 to 10 years in Mechanical design or System Integration

  • English: Negotiation level

Technical Competencies

  • CATIA V5 advanced skills. 3Dx experience will be a plus

  • Means of manufacturing's  knowledge

  • Structure pre-sizing basic knowledges

  • Capacity to foster innovation, creativity and capitalisation

  • Tolerancing knowledges (ISO standard)

Soft Skills

  • Leadership and good communication and listening skills

  • Curiosity, and problem solving oriented mindset
